2020 Annual Report
2020 was supposed to be a celebratory year for Union Settlement, as we marked our 125th Anniversary of service here in East Harlem, but obviously the COVID19 pandemic completely changed those plans. Although our plans shifted, we remained committed to our mission of creating opportunities in East Harlem by offering comprehensive programs that help underserved residents improve their skills and build better lives for themselves and their families.

Small Business Grant
Union Settlement, Council Member Diana Ayala, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, and the NYC Economic Development Corp. joined forces to offer a $4,000,000 Grant Program to East Harlem’s small businesses in need of COVID-19 financial assistance.

COVID-19 Response
Union Settlement is committed to serving the East Harlem community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath. Although the outbreak is being felt everywhere, East Harlem residents are especially vulnerable to this unprecedented medical and financial crisis. As we have for the past 125 years, Union Settlement is providing vital resources to protect the safety and well-being of the neighborhood.
